Welcome to the City of Golden Light!
This is the Playing for the Ivory Throne, a novel about what happens when Alexander the great has to face a rather tough (and very female) enemy. The official summary goes like this: Alessander has come quite possibly the closest anyone has ever come to conquering the known world. But when his mother's people, the Vabren, retreat from an alliance, he has two choices: get them back on his side, or conquer them. This is his struggle to get back to sacking Tiyrh.

Alexander the Great ('cause Alessander can be disturbing, and so deserves a warning)
Definite offscreen homoeroticism, 'cause Alessander is GREEK, and Greeks were down with homosexuality, and Alexander was almost certainly involved with Hephestian, and was almost certainly on bottom (having been accused of being an overly-effiminate gay man, I'd say some of those charges had weight)
MENTIONS of beastiality (it's a real story, too. Olympias really DID sleep with a snake. Alessander was not present to see it, however, so it won't be described).
There will also be slavery, which Alessander will experience firsthand.
There will also be misogyny and anti-feministic thinking, because that's how people were.
